From installed to audit-ready

Four walkthroughs, in the order you will actually do them. Each one takes you end to end through a real piece of work rather than listing what a screen contains.

Who this is written for

Somebody who has been handed responsibility for AI governance and has not done it before. You do not need to have read ISO/IEC 42001 or the EU AI Act — the app carries the structure, and the guide explains what each step is for.

The shape of the work

AI governance is not a project with an end. What the app is trying to give you is a place where the current position is always true, so that the question "where are we?" takes a minute rather than a fortnight.

  1. Know what you run. The register. Without it nothing else means anything.
  2. Know what the law asks of each one. Classification, per system.
  3. Know what the standard asks of you. The gap tracker, across the organisation.
  4. Be able to prove it. Evidence attached to controls.
  5. Be able to hand it over. Documents, generated, versioned.

Steps 1 and 2 are the ones people skip, and they are the ones every later step depends on.

The workspace overview showing readiness, four stat tiles, a list of things needing attention, and per-section readiness bars.
Illustration Where you land. The overview is designed for somebody who has not opened the app in a month: one figure, then the specific things that need doing.
